Shure offers a challenging, fun and rewarding summer internship program. The twelve-week program is offered to undergraduate and graduate students. We offer internships with a variety of work arrangements from onsite interns to fully remote in US. Each intern will receive a competitive salary. Additionally, Interns who are asked to relocate to Illinois for onsite internships will receive a housing stipend to cover living expenses. Applications will be collected, reviewed, and selected candidates will be contacted in late fall/early winter.
The Shure Battery Lab is dedicated to the design and profiling of safe, reliable, and accurate battery solutions for the entire Shure catalog of wireless devices. This includes battery cell selection through battery pack development as well as battery charger solutions. Having a multidisciplined engineering mindset is necessary as electrical, mechanical, and software driven approaches are under frequent considerations. Multichannel battery cyclers, temperature chambers, embedded microcontroller boards, soldering and PCB fabrication are something that as an intern you will be exposed to.
This Internship is 100% Onsite
- Develop, evaluate, and test batteries and power circuitry under the close direction of senior staff
- Assemble prototypes and perform system/sub-system level tests on batteries and chargers
- Monitor running battery tests and help keep battery lab in operational order
- Help other Shure Associates with battery recycling needs
- Must have completed two years of coursework in Electrical Engineering or related area. Cross discipline in both hardware and software a plus.
- Eye for detail and documentation skills
- Basic knowledge of test equipment measurement techniques
- Basic knowledge of soldering techniques
- Basic knowledge and understanding of programming(any language Java, C, C++, or Python)
- Basic knowledge and understanding of power circuit design concepts
- Basic knowledge of embedded microcontrollers

Modeled by extensive market analysis and economic best practices, Shure offers competitive intern compensation that is reviewed and adjusted annually by our Total Rewards Team to attract, hire, and retain the industry’s top intern talent. Each internship has an hourly rate which varies from $21-$40 per hour based on job function (Engineering, IT, Business, etc) and year completed in school (Junior, Masters 2nd year, PHD, etc).
