Job Summary:
The Electrical Engineer is responsible for the research, design, development, testing, and troubleshooting of motor vehicle electrical systems, components, and power distribution systems. The role of the Electrical Engineer is to produce safe, efficient, and innovative electrical solutions that enhance the functionality and performance of our motor vehicles.

Essential Functions:
- Designs electrical systems and components for motor vehicles
- Designs and documents electrical systems for add-on vehicle components (i.e., multi-plex, plug and play, etc.)
- Designs and manages power distribution systems for a variety of OEM vehicle offerings
- Creates as-built electrical manuals and schematics
- Analyzes and interprets design specifications and technical drawings
- Performs electrical tests for automotive systems, identifies faults, and implements corrective actions
- Manages projects and prepares material, cost, and timing estimates, reports, and design specifications
- Uses computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks
- Works with colleagues to design new systems, circuits, and devices, and/or develop existing technology
- Inspects installations and observes operations to ensure compliance with design and equipment specifications, vehicle electrical codes, and safety standards
- Keeps up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends
- Documents all project design and development work for future reference
- Communicates effectively with team members, other departments, and customers

Personal Protective Equipment recommended and/or required on the production floor:
- Safety glasses, or prescription safety glasses that meet ANSI Z 87.1
- Hearing Protection that meets ANSI S 12.6
- Steel-toed shoes with anti-slip soles that meet ASTM F2413

Required Education/Experience/Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant field
- Proven work experience as an Electrical Engineer
- Knowledge of Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) vehicle electrical systems and equipment
- Ability to identify and troubleshoot electrical faults and complex electrical issues
- Proficiency in using electrical diagnostic tools to identify and rectify faults in automotive electrical systems
- Proficiency in using computer-aided design (CAD) software to create electrical system designs and schematics
- Understanding of electrical engineering principles, especially as they relate to vehicle systems and components, including design, troubleshooting, and repair
- Excellent problem-solving skills to quickly identify and address electrical issues
- Understanding of safety standards and regulations in the automotive industry
- Strong communication skills to work effectively with team members, other engineers, and customers
- Ability to keep up with the latest advancements in automotive technology and integrate them into electrical system designs
Preferred Education/Experience/Certifications:
- Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- Five (5) or more years of Electrical Engineering experience
- Project management skills to oversee the successful completion of automotive electrical projects from conceptualization to implementation
- Bilingual: English/Spanish
Travel Requirements: Up to 10% travel may be required
