Responsibilities- Design and develop electrical prototypes and production units.
- Engage in the full electrical design cycle: from concept and design to schematic capture, PCB layout, testing, system integration, and manufacturing release. - Work with a variety of technologies, including microprocessors/microcontrollers, FPGAs, analog circuitry, audio/video data compression and encryption, fiber optic-based networks (803.3), wireless networks (802.11), and LED lighting systems. - Conduct design validation and testing, including highly accelerated life testing and environmental qualification testing.
- Produce and maintain detailed technical documentation.
- Potentially take on a lead role for specific projects, following departmental processes and standards.
- Conceive, research, and implement design changes aimed at improving manufacturability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
- Mid to senior-level experience in hardware engineering and electrical design.
- Experience in digital or analog design.
- Familiarity with schematic capture and PCB routing software (e.g., OrCAD/Allegro PCB Designer).
- Skilled in using diagnostic tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and spectrum analyzers. Knowledge of FAA and/or Milspec requirements.
- Proficiency in FPGA design tools.
- Experience with Ethernet and electro-optical design.
- Familiarity with Xilinx FPGAs and associated toolsets.
