Job Description
Research, design, develop, modify, evaluate, and test a variety of electronic equipment and systems, including radar and radiation detection equipment, radio, television, and other communications equipment. This role involves working with circuitry components, analog and digital computers, and control and test equipment. You will conduct experimental tests on equipment and evaluate results, as well as develop specifications for selecting components and equipment. You may also review vendors' abilities to support the company. Establish operational objectives and assignments, which will be reviewed by management to determine the success of operations. Involved in developing, modifying, and executing company policies which affect immediate operations and may have company-wide effects.

Work Environment
The work environment offers flexible schedules, allowing for a 9/80, 4/10, or 5/8 schedule. Hybrid flexibility is available after the initial training period, but the role will primarily be onsite. The company supports a variety of programs with sonar, weapons systems, and underwater technology and is a premier employer in the local Newport market.

Job Description

You will conduct experimental tests on equipment and evaluate results, as well as develop specifications for selecting components and equipment. Responsibilities
- Conduct experimental tests on electronic equipment and evaluate results.
- Develop specifications for selecting components and equipment.
- Establish operational objectives and assignments.
- Regularly interact with management or executive levels on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions, and/or customers.
- Exercise independent judgment in developing methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
- Work on extremely complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires evaluation of intangible variables.
- Act independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments.
- May manage and be responsible for staff development and supervision.
Essential Skills
- Experience with design, PCB, and electrical engineering, including mixed signal and electrical design.
- Proficiency in schematic capture and test development.
- Knowledge of software tools such as OrCAD, Altium, PADS, Xilinx, LabVIEW, Verilog, and VHDL.
- Experience with analog and digital systems, FPGA, and maritime, navy, or defense applications.
- Ability to complete difficult and complex assignments with a complete understanding of the job.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Degree in a related field.
- 4 years of related experience.
