Solstice Consulting Group is seeking an Electrical Engineer - Protection and Controls for an energy-related client in Jacksonville, FL.
- Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering and 4+ years experience required
- 2+ years of experience with complex computer software applications (examples: Siemens PSSE, GE PSLF, Power GEM TARA, PLS-CADD, AcSELerator Quickset, AcSELerator RTAC and ASPEN Oneliner).
- HYBRID ROLE – 2-3 days per week in the Jacksonville office (remainder is work from home)
- Base salary range of $100k - $135k DOE plus bonus opportunity and excellent benefits
Responsibilities:
- Lead design & development projects as assigned anywhere within the electric system including:
- Researching capacity requirements, planning, design, standards development, cost estimating and scope development under the direction and review of a manager or designee.
- Responsible for providing engineering, operational and troubleshooting support to electric systems operations including:
- Monitoring and improving system performance, modifying procedures, providing technical advice or training, investigating system failures, and participating in process improvement opportunities under the direction and review of a manager or designee.
- Develops, implements and monitors engineering applications, tools, processes and services used to plan, maintain, troubleshoot, operate and improve the electrical system.
- Defines, studies, analyzes, and maintains transmission, distribution and generation models.
- Schedules, plans, studies, tests and coordinates forecasting models in support of the electrical system.
- Prepare RFP’s, reviewing responses and making bid award recommendations based on procurement guidelines and policy.
- Oversee complex field inspections including testing.
- Preparation of technical, financial or process analysis related reports.
- Preparation of written and verbal project status reports to include scheduling and financial performance details.
- Use complex computer simulation software and interpret results.
- Tests and maintains on a system wide basis the relay protective and control equipment essential to system operation and tests the condition of insulation of all major system electric apparatus.
Requirements:
·Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required, Master’s degree a plus
·4+ years of engineering work experience in Electronics, Instrumentation and Controls, Reliability, and/or Relay required
2+ years of experience with computer software applications required (examples: Siemens PSSE, GE PSLF, Power GEM TARA, PLS-CADD, AcSELerator Quickset, AcSELerator RTAC and ASPEN Oneliner).
