As an Electrical Engineer specializing in motor repairs, you will be responsible for overseeing and directing the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of electric motors. Your role involves ensuring that all motor repair activities comply with industry standards and safety regulations. You will collaborate with a team of technicians to diagnose issues, develop repair strategies, and implement solutions to restore motor functionality. Additionally, you will manage documentation, provide technical guidance, and ensure the efficient operation of motor repair processes.
What You'll Do:
- Identify and analyze motor malfunctions using diagnostic tools and techniques.
- Develop and implement repair strategies to address identified issues.
- Direct and perform repairs on various types of electric motors, ensuring high-quality workmanship.
- Recommend routine maintenance to prevent future malfunctions.
- Provide technical support and training to technicians and junior engineers.
- Ensure all team members are up-to-date with the latest repair techniques and safety protocols.
- Ensure all repair activities adhere to safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct safety inspections and audits to maintain a safe working environment.
- Maintain detailed records of repair activities, including diagnostics, repairs performed, and parts used.
- Prepare reports on repair outcomes and suggest improvements.
- Continuously evaluate and improve repair processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Implement best practices and innovative solutions to streamline repair operations.
- Work closely with other departments to coordinate repair schedules and minimize downtime.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure alignment on repair priorities and timelines.
- Other duties may be assigned.
What You'll Need:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
- 10+ years motor repair experience, including electrical experience preferred.
- Fundamental understanding of rotating equipment
- In-depth understanding of electrical systems, including power generation, transmission, and distribution.
- Comprehensive knowledge of various types of electric motors, their components, and operational principles.
- Familiarity with diagnostic tools and techniques used for troubleshooting motor issues.
- Knowledge of industry safety standards and regulatory requirements related to electrical engineering and motor repairs.
- Understanding of materials and components used in motor construction and repair.
- Proficient in diagnosing and resolving motor malfunctions using advanced diagnostic tools.
- Ability to maintain detailed records of repair activities and prepare comprehensive reports.
- Capable of managing repair projects, including planning, execution, and monitoring.
- Strong communication skills to effectively convey technical information to team members and stakeholders.
- Skilled in evaluating and improving repair processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Physical requirements: must be able to move about inside the shop, warehouse, office, and occasionally on a customer/project site.
- Must be able to occasionally lift supplies, boxes up to 45 lbs.
