The Opportunity:
The Product Development Team maintains Keystone’s core values and business goals by creating new products and improving the performance, cost, and/or quality of existing products.
The Electrical Engineer (Product Development) is responsible for collaborating with vendors to evaluate product designs, executing improvement projects based on testing and market feedback, and conducting product compatibility testing with other lighting devices on the market. This position executes the resolution of advanced technical issues for Keystone customers and staff by managing, evaluating, and resolving any existing product/job-site issues.
As a technical expert for Keystone, the Electrical Engineer will also advise and educate other parties, including customers, sales, RMA, marketing, and other less experienced product development team members.

Your Impact:

Collaborate with vendors to evaluate product designs and execute improvement projects based on testing and market feedback

Conduct safety, performance, and reliability testing for product designs

Perform product compatibility testing with other lighting devices on the market

Perform technical troubleshooting, sometimes visiting jobsites to resolve issues

Handle claims to coordinate advanced jobsite troubleshooting and warranty support when necessary

Act as a point of contact for advanced technical support for Keystone's customers & sales staff

Travel occasionally for tradeshows, meetings, and field calls

Solve product certification issues for primarily new products

Educate and train sales, customers, and less experienced product development team members through contributions to the knowledge base, lab tours, regular interactions, and mentoring

Assist occasionally with sales/marketing display construction

Provide engineering support for the production team through troubleshooting and the development and maintenance of tools, processes, and documentation
What you bring:

Bachelor’s degree is required in electrical engineering or related area

2+ years of relevant experience and comfortable with electrical engineering fundamentals

Technical industry experience with design, development, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis

Excellent verbal and written communicator with keen attention to detail

Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

Familiarity with lighting technologies or the desire to learn

Demonstrable time management and prioritization skills

Eager and able to learn every day and a positive team-player

Capable of communicating with multiple departments throughout the day
