POSITION PURPOSE:
Summer 2025. This position requires an articulate, pro-active individual who can work independently as well as with other members of the ICM team. The intern will work in the area of Electrical Engineering, with the focus on industrial power design, and should possess a basic understanding of electrical design principles. The intern will support ICM’s licensed Electrical Engineers in generating electrical design documents to be used for industrial construction. This is a hands-on opportunity to work as part of a cross-disciplinary team made up of engineers, project managers, and field superintendents.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:
- Make modifications to existing electrical design documents through the direction of ICM Electrical Engineers using AutoCAD software.
- Perform electrical quantity take-off’s from the electrical design drawings and generate electrical construction estimates under the guidance of the ICM Electrical Engineers.
- Work with Projects team (through guidance of ICM Electrical Engineers) in determining electrical equipment requirements including specifications, power requirements, layout, and control requirements.
- Support the Electrical Engineers with document generation and document control including design drawings and specifications.
- Travel to industrial project sites and establish an understanding of the magnitude of electrical power scope of projects and the associated design requirements.
- Support ICM Electrical Engineers in trouble-shooting electrical issues at existing industrial facilities.
Education/Certification:
- High School Diploma required
- Must be currently enrolled as a student in a public or accredited private academic institution
- Majoring in Electrical Engineering preferred
Required Knowledge & Experience:
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD software
Occasional site visits required.
