About the Job
Essential Functions:
•Plans, organizes, and directs electrical/instrumentation assignments.
•Acts as administrative and technical authority to the Electrical/Instrumentation team.
•Manages the department resources as required to support project execution.
•Coordinates with other support departments such as human resources and finance to ensure successful production operations.
•Manages / submits rate changes for department staff in accordance with company policies and procedures.
•Conducts or facilitates yearly performance evaluations of department staff in accordance with company policies and procedures.
•Ensures that departmental decisions such as staffing, development, organization, hardware acquisitions, and facilities are in line with the organizations business plan and vision.
•Provides technical and / or administrative support to the department staff.
•Supports the development and maintenance of department procedures, specifications, and standards.
•Monitors/identifies specific staff training needs; assists in facilitating training to meet those needs.
•Ensures that project execution adheres to the quality control standards required by the company.
•Communicate clearly and effectively with engineering colleagues, project managers,
•and clients on a daily basis through email, telephone, and face-to-face meetings.
•Investigate and resolve unusual design and field engineering problems by devising new approaches.
•Keep up to date on new engineering processes, techniques, and standards.
•Being logged onto your computer during your scheduled work hours or being able to
•answer calls during project related work scheduled times of the day for approved remote work.
•Conduct all work activities in compliance with safety policies & procedures.
•Works under the direction of the VP of Engineering.
•Supervisory or salary administration responsibilities at the discipline level independent of project responsibilities.

Skills & Qualifications:
•Extensive knowledge of engineering principles and procedures.
•Solid business acumen - thorough knowledge of EPC work processes, cost control, scheduling, and administrative practices, understanding project phases and associated required scope/deliverables.
•Significant experience in various phases of vendor selection and technical negotiation.
•Significant experience in E&I installation requirements; impact on construction.
•Knowledge of NEC, IEC, ISA & IEEE standards, methods and practices.
•Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Oulook, etc.)
•Operates well in a multi-company team environment (vendors, clients, etc.)
•Exhibits leadership traits and abilities.
•Teamwork, flexibility, integrity and a high degree of professionalism are required.
•Knowledge of Instrument calculation computer applications.
•Ability to integrate new technologies into daily work processes
•Must have valid driver’s license and suitable driving record that is able to meet company driver requirements and also to obtain a TWIC card if required.
•Experience working with other disciplines understanding their interface requirements.
•Experience with design and/or construction of plants desirable.

Education and Experience:
•BS or MS in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
•Minimum 10+ years in Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering or related functional area (or equivalent working knowledge/experience) required.
•Registration as a Licensed Professional Engineer required.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
•Occasionally, will conduct or participate in a field trip to an operating plant or construction site. This requires normal hearing, the ability to stand, walk, reach, climb and balance, clear close and distance vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.
•Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
•Ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboard.
•Must be able to bend, stoop and climb on a ladder or up and down stairs.
•Must be able to drive a company vehicle to and from job sites or office locations.
•Must be able to attend job walks wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) in an operating facility in a hot climate.
•Lifting up to 25 pounds may be required.
Ability to Travel:
•Site visits can be required with little or no notice.
•Must be willing to travel overnight and work out of town as required.
•Travel may be required between Office Locations.
