What would you do as a Electrical, Instrumentation, and Controls Technician
As a new Electrical, Instrumentation, and Controls Technician at Didion Inc., your day-to-day responsibilities will include troubleshooting electrical and instrumentation issues, performing preventive maintenance, and assisting in equipment installations. You will work closely with our team of experienced technicians and engineers to ensure the smooth operation of our machinery and equipment.
Your schedule will be Monday to Friday, from 6 am to 3 pm, with occasional overtime as needed for shutdown and plant support. This allows for a consistent and predictable work schedule, ensuring a healthy work-life balance.
What you need to be successful
To be successful as an Electrical, Instrumentation, and Controls Technician at Didion Inc., certain skills and qualifications are necessary.
These include:
- A technical school certificate/degree in Industrial Electrical Maintenance or a related field, or the ability to demonstrate competency in the required program material.
- Understanding of NFPA 70E and Arc Flash Hazards.
- Three to five years of experience in overall industrial maintenance is preferred, with a minimum of one to three years required.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in instrumentation, electrical systems, and maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret equipment wiring diagrams, piping and instrument diagrams. - Proficient computer skills required for calibration programs and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
- Proficiency in Microsoft programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills for effective communication with internal project teams and external vendors.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, especially when faced with time pressures and changing priorities.
- Capability to take field measurements to verify new installations or modifications.
- In-depth knowledge of state and local electrical codes.
- Experience in the design and layout of new electrical systems.
- Aptitude for troubleshooting electrical issues ranging from 480V motor testing to 24VDC control wiring.
- Familiarity with Ethernet, DeviceNet, and ControlNet.
