Electrical Maintenance Technician (Food Manufacturing)
Essential functions of the job:
- Daily meetings with Plant Engineer regarding departmental status and strategy.
- Responsibility for adhering to all active maintenance facility standards that support proper design and operational functions of the plant & equipment including but not limited to: physical structure, scales, mixers, production belts, pallet jacks, pneumatic pumps, pan & rack washers, ovens, coolers, freezers, depositors, packaging, and metal detection.
- Responsible for priority delegation of work-orders and follow-up completion with sub- ordinates.
- Responsible for adhering to the PM task delegation and follow-up.
- Maintain departmental supplies and inventory.
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary work area at all times
- Performs other duties as needed
The skills and experience that are necessary to perform the essential functions of this job include:
- 10-20 years of training in maintenance related discipline (mechanical, electrical, pneumatics, etc.)
- 3-5 years mechanics experience in a food processing or other manufacturing facility
- Must have working knowledge of pneumatics, mechanical repair and general maintenance
- Responsible for the maintenance and reliability of machinery and systems required for production by inspecting and testing machinery; completing preventive maintenance such as, lubrication, bearing replacement, inspections, replacing filters, etc
- Knowledge on tools to execute job requirements.
- Accurately record and document all completed maintenance, modifications, and repairs
- Make suggestions for changes which would help the plant achieve improved efficiency, quality, and safety
- Assist in maintaining the inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, and replacement parts
- Must have the ability to become familiar with any applicable OSHA regulations (e.g. hazard communication, lockout/tagout, etc.) and apply this knowledge to daily duties
- Must possess mechanical and basic electrical troubleshooting skills with equipment and be analytical
- Must have knowledge of common fabrication methodology
- Must have strong working knowledge of electrical circuits
- May be required to work overtime or any shift, including weekends
- Possessing excellent upper and lower body strength
- Ability to lift 25-50 lbs.
