Electrical Project Engineer
Job Summary:
We are looking for an accountable Project Engineer to be responsible for all engineering and technical disciplines related to projects. The Project Engineer will schedule, plan, forecast, resource, and manage all the technical activities aiming at assuring project accuracy and quality from conception to completion.
Job Duties:
1. Electrical Schematics and Layouts
- Create Detailed Diagrams:
- Develop power distribution schematics, control system diagrams, and layouts for equipment.
- Design electrical control circuits and bus bar systems.
2. Component Selection and BOM Generation
- Select Components:
- Choose appropriate components for systems, including:
- Switchboards (SWBD)
- Motor Control Centers (MCC)
- Panelboards
- Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
- Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS)
- Industrial control panels, relays, power supplies, transformers, HVAC systems, etc.
- Choose appropriate components for systems, including:
- Generate Bill of Materials (BOM):
- Compile a comprehensive BOM detailing all selected components, quantities, and specifications.
3. Prototyping and Testing
- Build Prototypes:
- Construct prototypes of electrical systems and engineered products.
- Testing and Validation:
- Conduct thorough testing to validate design concepts and performance.
- Analyze test results, troubleshoot issues, and resolve inefficiencies.
- Performance Evaluation:
- Evaluate products for reliability and compatibility with existing systems.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (ABET) Or a minimum of 10 years' proven experience in the electrical engineering field required
- Three plus years' experience in electrical equipment manufacturing
- Three plus years' experience AutoCAD, EPLAN, and electrical design tools
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teams
- Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities
Wage Range: $73K-$83K annually plus profit sharing and benefits Exempt
