Job Summary:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-focused Electrical Specialist to join our hardware store team. The Electrical Specialist will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, offering expert advice on electrical products and solutions, and ensuring the electrical department is well-maintained and organized. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical systems, excellent communication skills, and a passion for helping customers with their electrical needs. Must be available to work weekends.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert advice and assistance to customers on electrical products, including wiring, lighting, electrical tools, and accessories.
- Assist customers in selecting the appropriate electrical products for their projects and ensure they have a clear understanding of how to use them safely.
- Maintain knowledge of current electrical codes and standards to ensure accurate information is provided to customers.
- Stock and organize electrical products on shelves, ensuring the department is clean, orderly, and well-stocked.
- Conduct inventory checks and assist in ordering new stock as needed.
- Keep up to date with new electrical products and technologies to provide the latest information to customers.
- Collaborate with other store associates to ensure a seamless customer experience.
- Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and returns in a professional and courteous manner.
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification or training in electrical systems is preferred.
- Experience in electrical work, either through professional experience or technical education.
- Strong knowledge of electrical products, tools, and safety standards.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to explain complex electrical concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills for inventory management and product research.
- Physical ability to lift and carry heavy items, stand for long periods, and perform tasks that may require bending, reaching, or climbing ladders.
