We’re looking for an amazing Electrical Superintendent to fill this role, which is based in our Santa Clarita office. You’ll be responsible for supporting the ships that are assigned to you focusing on the electrical systems. This includes daily support, managing repairs, resolving operational issues, reviewing purchase request. This also includes management of allocated repair and maintenance expenses against budget, oversight of electrical purchases and deliveries. Planning and management of drydock, wetdock, repairs and renovations, including writing specifications. Maintaining vessel compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. This position will work in a POD structure together with Superintendents (Mechanical and Interior) and reports to the Senior Director, Electrical, Automation & Propulsion.

Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate installation, repair and operation of all major shipboard electrical systems.
- Plan, execute, and support Capital Expenditure and other major electrical projects during dry dock and wet dock.
- Act as general point of contact for ships’ technical and nautical area staff for matters relating to operating problem solving for ship(s) assigned.
- Evaluate and correct purchase orders prepared by vessels and technical purchasing department, and follow-up on timely onboard delivery of machinery parts.
- Support, develop and supervise all Electrical Officers fleet wide.
- Revision and upkeep of Preventive Maintenance for new and existing shipboard electrical systems/components.
- Ensure Documentation is up to date and Planned Maintenance System (PMS) reflects the applicable maintenance regime and the correct spare parts.
- Complete assigned projects within set time frame and the allocated Budget
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree -Electrical Engineering or Equivalent Experience -Chief Electrical Officer/1st Electrical Officer
- Ability to travel 25-50% of the time with shipboard travel likely
- 5 years of experience as electrical superintendent
- Shipboard experience as head of an Electrical department on a cruise vessel
- Management of a vessel’s maintenance program.
- Familiarity with application of Class Society and Flag State rules.
- Project Management skills and experience.
- Strong communication, problem solving, and PC skills needed.
- Experience in operation, maintenance and repair of power distribution systems, machinery and equipment including switchboard and transformers, Navigation systems, Hotel systems, Communication systems, etc.
- Must be capable of multi-tasking and work under pressure to maintain agreed project deadlines and budgets.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills to interact with shipboard and shoreside management, employees, shipyards, and subcontractors.
- Must be a self-starter
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Princess is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time (e.g., H-1B status).
Please note that this position is considered In Office and will be required to follow the Company’s schedule of three days in the office per week (Tuesday – Thursday).

- Base Salary Range: $83,200.00 to $112,300.00. The range is applicable for the labor market where the role is intended to be hired. Final base salary is directly related to each candidates' qualifications and experience uniquely.
