About the Job
The Electrical Technician will perform skilled work in the construction, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical and electronic equipment, apparatus, and fixtures used in industrial applications. This role is critical in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our manufacturing operations
The Nuts and Bolts
Position Responsibilities:
Diagram Interpretation: Follow diagrams, prints, sketches, operations manuals, and engineering specifications to ensure accurate work execution.
Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot malfunctions in electrical and electronic systems, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
Installation & Repair: Install machinery/equipment and assemble or repair wiring, electronic components
Code Compliance: Install new electrical and electronic equipment in accordance with the National Electrical Code and company standards.
Voltage Handling: Perform medium voltage switching (600 volts) and operate generators to support operations, working with systems ranging from 12v-24v DC and 120-600v AC.
Documentation: Read, maintain, and accurately revise technician diagrams and prints, collaborating closely with the Engineering team.
Additional Duties: Perform other related tasks as assigned.
Required Credentials
Skills and Abilities:
Proficient in methods, equipment, and materials used in the electrical trade
General knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations
Understanding of applicable laws, codes, regulations, policies, and procedures
Strong grasp of electronic theory as it applies to electrical and electronic circuits, wiring, and equipment
Proficient written and verbal communication skills
Ability to analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action
Competence in reading and working from blueprints, shop drawings, and sketches
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Strong collaboration skills to maintain effective working relationships with others
Experience with the installation, programming, and troubleshooting of PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) based equipment
Education / Certifications
High School diploma or GED preferred
NCCER Certification Preferred
Work environment:
Requires climbing, standing, bending, and lifting heavy objects in awkward and confined spaces using proper lifting and rigging techniques.
Exposure to fumes, dust, and high levels of vibration.
Exposure to high noise levels, requiring ear protection.
Work near moving parts of heavy machinery and high voltage equipment, requiring appropriate protective/safety equipment.
Work at heights as needed.
Non-controlled temperature environment.
Must be able to wear required Personal Protective equipment (PPE)
