The main function of an electrician is to install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment and fixtures. A typical electrician is responsible for inspecting, testing, maintaining or repairing electrical equipment.
Job Responsibilities:
- Measure, cut, and bend wired and conduit, using measuring instruments and hand tools.
- Maintain tools, vehicles, and equipment and keep parts and supplies in order.
- Perform semi-skilled and unskilled laboring duties related to the installation, maintenance and repair of a wide variety of electrical systems and equipment.
- Disassemble defective electrical equipment, replace defective or worn parts, and reassemble equipment, using hand tools.
- Examine electrical units for loose connections and broken insulation and tighten connections, using hand tools.
- Follow all Safety rule and regulations
- Trouble shoot and repair all electrical issues with equipment ranging from 120v to 480v.
- Assist other programs with any electrical issues with their equipment.
- High school diploma or GED required. Technical degree or certification preferred.
- 2-4 years experience required.
- Basic knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.
- Ability to read and understand schematics.
- Knowledge of 3 phase and single phase and 480v systems
- Proficient in the use of Electrical tools, ie. Meter and megger
- Basic knowledge of design techniques, tools and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models.
- Interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and problem solving skills.
- Basic ability to work independently and manage one's time.
- Ability to use Microsoft office / smart phone
- Possess valid DL
- Fluent in English
