Responsibilities
- Scope of Work: Installation, alterations, additions and/or repairs of electrical systems.
- conductors and associated materials and equipment within the electrical construction industries
- Responsibilities: Performs all electrical tasks with general supervision, possesses journeyman card/license, has the ability to read blueprints, one-lines, schematic drawings, terminate cables, install and troubleshoot control wiring from a drawing, is able to demonstrate experience factors exceeding that of an electrical helper and must be sufficient on rough-in workExperience in commercial, industrial and residential electrical construction
- Install feeders
- Wire and conduit sizing
- Switchgear and device install & termination
- Layout and preparation for installation
- Calculate basic mathematical problems
- Underground layout and rough-in work
- Troubleshooting motors & controls
- Work with apprentices; train and mentor apprentices
- Document problems and prepare reports
- Read and interpret maps, instruction manuals, specifications, work site directions, blueprints and written/verbal instructions
- Practical application of electrical theory and the National Electrical Code
- Work on fire alarm systems & other low voltage systems (access control, cameras, nurse call, telephone entry systems, etc.)
- Work on energized circuits and equipment with company management approval as outlined in Company safety policies when needed
- Read and interpret maps, instruction manuals, specifications, work site directions, blueprints and written/verbal instructions
- Securing and retrieval of tools and materials from storage areas to complete their assigned tasks
- Promote and maintain safety standards
- Climb and work on ladders (all types)
- Completing overhead work for full-day assignments
- Work in all elements, depending on job location, time of year (heat, cold, rain, snow)
- May be exposed to heights; must be comfortable with heights
- Operate company vehicles; maintain in good working condition
