Electrician (KUR) - GreenWood, Inc.

Job Description

The Electrical Journeyman is responsible for installation, monitoring and repairing of the electrical systems of the organization. 

Position Responsibilities - Essential 

• Plan, layout, install, and repair wiring, conduit, electrical fixtures, apparatus and control equipment 
• Prepare sketches showing location of wiring and equipment or follows diagrams or blueprints ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings and flooring 
• Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble and install electrical conduit using such tools as a hacksaw, pipe threader, rules and conduit benders 
• Pull wiring through conduit, assisted by helper 
• Splice wires by stripping insulation from terminal leads with knife or pliers, twisting or soldering wires together and applying tape or terminal caps 
• Connect wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment using hand tools 
• Install control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays and circuit- breaker panels, and fastens in place with crews or bolts using hand or power tools 
• Connect power cables to equipment and installs grounding leads 
• Test continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components using testing instruments such as ohmmeter, battery and buzzer and oscilloscope 
• Observe functioning of installed equipment or system to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement 
• Disassemble and repair defective electrical equipment or systems 
• Load, transport and unload material, tools, equipment and supplies 
• Maintains tools and equipment 
• Wear personal protective equipment and use safety equipment as required i.e. safety glasses, safety toe shoes, full face mask respirator with supplied air, etc. 
• Responsible for observing and complying with all safety and project rules 
• Rate information using personal judgment or standards that can be measured or checked 
• Ensure all safety procedures, practices, and regulations are followed before, during, and after the process to foster a positive safety culture by having a safety-first mindset and approach during execution of activities 
• Based on the nature of the essential functions associated with this role, GreenWood has designated this as a “safety-sensitive” position.
