This position supports a broad portfolio of Maritime Engineering Operation (MEO) programs supporting San Diego, CA/NIWC PAC geographic region onboard a fast-growing local team. Showcase your expertise in designing and implementing remote server system software with recent software development experience in C, C++/Boost, shell-scripting, TCP networking and Linux system programming. Join our Maritime Engineering, Technology and Sustainment (METS) team supporting Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) command.
In this role, you will:
- Maintaining existing Windows-based surveillance software systems.
- support Code 56740, NIWC Pacific
- Providing support for new sensor devices.
- Implementing new features for product releases of that system.
Qualifications:
To be successful in the role, you will have:
- Bachelors in Engineering or related field.
- An active Secret clearance.
- 5-7 years of experience in optical communications systems and in underwater systems.
- A current valid U.S. passport is required.
- Extensive experience with C, C++, Boost libraries, TCP networking, and Linux-based system development and deployments.
- Able to work with minimum supervision under a variety of conditions.
- Minimum 25% travel CONUS/OCONUS
Preferred requirements:
- Managed releases of Linux-based systems and transitioned Windows-based systems to Linux
- Familiar with Linux writing Linux-based code for new software.
