Electronics Technician – 1st Shift
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
Responsible for troubleshooting, testing and repairing electronic equipment; developing prototypes and breadboard circuits; design and work up plans to retrofit existing equipment; researching and performing routine maintenance on electronic equipment utilizing test sets.
JOB DESCRIPTION DETAILS
Machine and Equipment Maintenance
- Troubleshoot and run general diagnostics to accurately evaluate and repair electronic equipment, variable frequency drives, PLC’s, temperature controllers, timers, etc.
- Design and build control systems to upgrade production and facility equipment to improve the lifespan and functionality.
- Perform routine maintenance on electronic equipment utilizing test sets, including but not limited to, ultrasound, infrared, megger, oscilloscopes, VDM and ammeter.
- Adjusts, calibrates pressure transducers, probes, sensors, aligns, functional tests, modifies ad/or repairs circuitry and components and records effect on unit performance utilizing methods such as soldering and operating small hand tools to repair units; ensure compliance with standards.
- Operate basic power tools to accomplish fabrication of new or converted equipment and machinery.
- Performs difficult electrical, mechanical, and optical assembly, modification, and repair operations on subassemblies and line replaceable units; determines requirements and installs modifications as set forth by engineering drawings, engineering change notices, schematic diagrams, and other applicable documentation.
- Install and evaluate new equipment, applications and/or components to ensure system performance under actual operating conditions; design and work up plans to retrofit existing equipment.
- Request parts or components for use in repair process; follows up and communicates any delay if the part is unavailable and has to be ordered.
Develop and Design Equipment
- Design and upgrade outdated equipment in order to increase functionality and productivity.
- Develop prototypes and breadboard circuits for modification of existing equipment to improve operation or convert new performance or functionality.
Research and Report Writing
- Research, utilizing computers and libraries, products and/or parts if needed to obtain more information on general repair or functionality of equipment.
- Writes technical reports and develops charts, graphs and schematics to describe and illustrate system’s operating characteristics, malfunctions, deviations from design specifications and any functional limitations.

- Attends meetings as required and/or assigned.
- Performs other duties as required and/or assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of computer programs: Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and SAP
- Working knowledge of modern analog and digital electronics and electronic circuits
- Knowledge of modern test tools and equipment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to read electronic wiring diagrams and schematics
- Ability to use hand tools for troubleshooting and repair
- Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
- Ability to perform with superior service, reflecting a positive company image while sustaining a positive attitude with those you interact with; always going above and beyond to help others out, regardless of their position or department.

Education, Certification/License & Work Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years of relevant experience
- Electronics certification
- VFD and PLC programming
