Position Summary: Performs Service and Repair duties including routine maintenance, repair and assembly under minimal supervision.
Essential Functions:
1. Disassemble components and power units for servicing and repairs, including unit teardown and inspection.
2. Perform soldering and desoldering of through-hole and surface mount components.
3. Fabricate and test cables.
4. Analyze units and parts to compile a list of worn, damaged, or malfunctioning components.
5. Utilize Huntron, digital voltmeter, and capacitor checker for static component testing.
6. Provide training assistance to Level 1 Electronic Technicians.
7. Conduct initial power testing and diagnostics.
8. Interpret manuals to set up testing procedures.
9. Help in configuring test equipment.
10. Aid in the reverse engineering of electrical units.
11. Execute standard-level repairs and testing within the department under minimal supervision.
12. Maintain cleanliness, organization, and upkeep of Lab equipment.
13. Ensure adherence to safety rules and safe work practices within the department.
14. Engage in continuous improvement by participating in training and associate development.
15. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Experience, Education, and Skills
1. Education—A High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D) is required. A 2-year Electronic Engineering degree or formal training in industrial technology, electronics, or a related field with fluid power in the curriculum is preferred.
2. Electrical Aptitude—Possess advanced skills in soldering, desoldering, component identification, cable fabrication & testing. Capable of disassembling, cleaning, and reassembling electrical units, with a solid understanding of electrical theory. Proficient in reading and understanding schematics and knowledgeable in both direct and alternating current theory.
3. Experience—2-3 years of experience in electronics.
4. Physical Dexterity—Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. The position requires standing 95 to 100% of the workday.
