Astrion has an exciting opportunity for an Electronics Engineer for the Ocean Engineering and Technology Support Program, supporting the Navy Division.
JOB DETAILS
LOCATION: Ventura, CA
JOB STATUS: Full Time provided that the Customer awards sufficient work to support full-time employment.
TRAVEL: Up to 5%
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS:
- Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
- At least five years of experience in the design and development of advanced electronic equipment for use in the deep ocean.
- At least five years of experience in PCB design layout, programming, and manufacturing.
- At least five years of experience in fiber-optic system controls.
- Strong understanding of electronic circuit design and PCB layout tools.
- Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in electronics engineering.
- In-depth knowledge of fiber-optic systems and their controls.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication skills for presenting technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Must possess a Top Secret clearance based on a T5 investigation and be deemed eligible for SCI access. The individual may be required to access information classified at the SCI level.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and develop advanced electronic equipment for deep ocean applications.
- Create detailed PCB design layouts, including schematics and assembly drawings.
- Program and test electronic systems to ensure functionality and reliability.
- Oversee the manufacturing process of PCB designs to maintain high-quality standards.
- Develop and maintain fiber-optic system controls to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate electronic systems into larger projects.
- Conduct troubleshooting and debugging of electronic systems as needed.
- Stay current with advancements in electronics engineering and related technologies.
SALARY RANGE: 5-10 years of experience; $136,000 - $157,000 annually
