About the Job
Specific Responsibilities:
- Build, modify and test development prototypes
- Conduct firmware, software and hardware testing
- Document test procedures and test results
- Test, troubleshoot and repair field failures
- Document component and product level specifications
- Manage lab equipment
- Work with customer technical support and the development team to resolve field issues
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Working knowledge of DC, AC and digital circuits
- Ability to use specifications, schematics and PCB layouts to troubleshoot to the component level
- Working knowledge of oscilloscopes, digital multi meters, power supplies, signal generators, protocol analyzers and PC applications for device programming and control
- Excellent soldering and de-soldering skills of through-hole and SMT components
- Demonstrated proficiency using MS Word, Excel, schematic capture, Gerber viewer
- Ability to function successfully in a dynamic team environment with little direct supervision
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of 8/16 bit embedded microcontrollers
- Knowledge of USB and RS-232 interfaces
- Experience with Altium
Education and Experience:
- BSEET or Associate Degree in electronics or equivalent
- 3-5 years’ experience, more than 3 years preferred in electronics development, test or production environment required
