Elevator Technician Assistant
We are seeking bright, motivated individuals to join our team as Elevator Technician Assistants. The ideal candidate will develop a strong understanding of elevator systems and safety standards while assisting in troubleshooting, repairing, and installing elevators. A commitment to high-quality service and excellent customer care is essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities:
- Assist technicians with repairing and installing elevators.
- Provide assistance to customers using the elevator.
- Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries related to elevator service.
- Oversee the safety and security of elevator operations.
- Participate in in-house and company-sponsored training programs.
- Operate computerized systems to monitor and manage elevator functions.
- Handle elevator service calls, which may occur at odd hours.
- Work from verbal instructions, schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and national, state, and municipal codes and specifications.
- Maintain good organizational, planning, and communication skills.
- Pay close attention to detail, particularly when troubleshooting or servicing rotating equipment.
- Work with computers and operate computerized systems efficiently.
- Follow specific, detailed instructions while working independently.
- Interface with various levels of personnel in a multi-cultural, team-oriented environment.
- Attend meetings and task force groups to communicate issues, obtain approvals, and resolve problems while staying updated on new developments and policies.
- Assist with departmental operations as directed to ensure smooth workflow.
- Maintain required security clearances, permits, licenses, and certifications. Must possess a valid Florida Driver's License.
- This role may involve handling hazardous materials or other environmental responsibilities.
Physical Requirements:
- Lift a minimum of 60 pounds from the ground frequently.
- Walk for up to six hours per day.
- Bend and stoop for up to six hours per day.
- Work overhead with a minimum load of 20 pounds.
- Work at heights and frequently push and pull loads throughout the day.
- Walk up and down stairs frequently.
- Stand for up to seven hours per day.
- Climb ladders and scaffolding as required.
- Wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as steel-toe shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses, hard hats, and gloves for up to six hours continuously.
- Tolerate extreme cold or heat for up to three hours continuously.
Qualifications/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Strong attention to detail and good communication skills.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently.
- A valid Florida Driver's License.
