POSITION SUMMARY:
The Email Marketing Specialist role at Ocean State Job Lot (“OSJL” and “Company”) is responsible for the day-to-day technical execution and development of marketing programs in support of company and business unit objectives. This individual will collaborate with various internal stakeholders to build, test, and deploy all email marketing initiatives. This includes ownership of the development, setup, maintenance, and review of recurring and triggered email communications using up-to-date best practices in HTML & CSS responsive design. Additionally, the Email Marketing Specialist will maintain a current understanding of email marketing best practices and apply them to our programs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ownership and management of ongoing and long term strategic campaign activities including, but not limited to, email campaign HTML development and set-up, scheduling, testing, tagging and deployment of one-time, recurring, triggered, and dynamic content-driven campaigns.
- Develop, build, and manage email filters and lists in line with strategic vision.
- Analyze data to determine marketing strategies and campaign concepts.
- Build a business case for marketing campaigns based on data.
- Translate the business case into technical requirements and develop campaigns in Oracle Responsys and other marketing tools.
- Code responsive text and image-based emails using the latest HTML and CSS email oriented best practices.
- Complete and review analysis of all creative briefs with the marketing team to understand and further develop objectives and requirements.
- Execute quality assurance of emails and verification of email audience counts prior to scheduling.
- Monitor and communicate day-to-day campaign deliverability and key performance indicators.
- Analyze and troubleshoot technical issues related to HTML templates, list segmentation, and other aspects of email execution. Collaborate with the Oracle support team as required.
- Analyze, monitor, and support email and website deployments.
- Provide other marketing campaign support and insight as needed.
- The above duties will be performed with self-direction, independent judgment, and minimal supervision.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- 2 or more years of digital marketing experience and email coding is required; Experience within the retail industry is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred.
- Experience within Oracle Responsys platform and Google Analytics is preferred.
- Experience with segmentation, email versioning, and A/B testing regimen (e.g., subject lines, layout, creative, time and frequency, segmentation, etc.) is preferred.
- Strong fluency coding in HTML and CSS, including responsive design is preferred.
- Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite with demonstrable experience is preferred.
- Excellent organization, time management, and prioritization skills are required.
- Proficient in Google platform (i.e. Sites, Slides, Drive, Docs, Sheets).

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Works primarily in a climate controlled environment with minimal safety and health hazard
potential. - Works in an office environment sitting at a desk, table, or computer workstation for extended periods of time. Frequently uses near vision for reading and computer tasks.
- Hybrid work: Work may be completed outside of the company locations. The role is responsible for setting up a professional and ergonomically safe work environment and to be available during working hours. While working remotely, the role will be required to have reliable Internet connection.

The salary range for this position is between $60,000 - $70,000.00 per year. Salary varies depending on experience.
