Cornell Pump is seeking an experienced full-time Embedded Hardware Engineer. This is a hybrid position and based onsite out of our Clackamas office location. This is an exempt position, and the annual salary range is $80,000 - $90,000 (DOE).

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
The Embedded Hardware Engineer will support hardware-embedded system development for Cornell's new IIoT products. This includes prototyping hardware for research and development work, as well as supporting product-level hardware design.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
May direct Drafters and Engineering Technicians. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Embedded Engineering, or related fields and 2-5 years of industry experience.

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
The Embedded Hardware Engineer will support hardware-embedded system development for Cornell's new IIoT products. This includes prototyping hardware for research and development work, as well as supporting product-level hardware design.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design schematics and PCBs for IoT products, test fixturing, and sensor development
- Write test firmware for low-power microcontrollers and peripherals, such as analog and digital sensors, wireless radios, and fieldbus protocols
- Operate and test IIoT systems in the field and Test Lab, alongside operating pumps
- Solder and rework of PCBs, hardware debugging and troubleshooting, and test fixture construction
- Implement test plans, document procedures, and present results
- Support other Firmware and Hardware Engineers on the team for product development
- Interpret hardware schematics and code from existing repositories
- Write software applications to support and test embedded hardware
- Manage firmware and hardware source file version control
- Collaborate across interdisciplinary teams such as Mechanical Engineering, Test Lab, Software Engineering, and Sales

What we're looking for:
- Excellent knowledge and experience of PCB High Speed and Mixed Signal design
- Good knowledge and experience with hardware design and microcontroller hardware peripherals, such as I2C and SPI, analog 4-20mA industrial sensors, PLCs, and real-time fieldbus protocols
- Some knowledge and experience of low-level code on microcontrollers: Assembly, C, C++ on ARM-Cortex M platforms or similar
- Some knowledge and experience with writing computer applications in Python to debug and test embedded hardware
