JOB SUMMARY
The Emergency Care Tech (ECT) is a member of Emergency Services with primary responsibilities for technical, mulitskilled direct and indirect patient care activities. The ECT is assigned to work under the supervision of the licensed nurse who delegates tasks based on patient needs and ECT core competencies. The ECT provides care through all spectrums of the lifespan.

Initiative motifivation and strong communication skills required. Strong Customer Service Skills required. Strong organizational and prioritization. Ability to be an active team player. Carroll Hospital Center is a minimal-lift facility which means that any moving or lifting of patients must be done with appropriate equipment and/or techniques taught through the Safe Lift program. Appropriate equipment or techniques must be used.

REQUIREMENTS
- Preferred High School Diploma Successful completion of the following competencies within six months of employment as ECT: IV Starts, Venipuncture, Splinting, Bladder Male/Female Catherization and EKG course.
- Less than 2 years Successful completion of Certified or Geriatric Nursing Assistant course required. One Year Patient Care Technician or Emergency Medical Technician experience preferred. Required
- CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant
- CPR - AHA Healthcare Provider
