Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Physician provide direct care to patients in the Emergency Department.
+ Perform urgent and emergent care procedures including EKGs, wound care, vital sign monitoring, IV initiation, phlebotomy procedures and codes.
+ Monitor patient condition and performs data collection.
+ Communicate findings and patient condition to primary Registered Nurse (RN).
+ Apply, modify and remove casts, traction appliances, and soft goods under written orders of attending physician. Assist physicians with these procedures as needed.
+ Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
+ Order and stock unit supplies of all types needed for patient care and locating shared equipment within the Hospital.
+ Assist with the mobilization, ambulation and transport of patients.

Requirements
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
+ BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
+ Emergency Medical Tech credentialed from the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) preferred.
+ One or more of the following preferred:
+ Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, or Certified EMT Paramedic.
Education:
+ High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
Work Experience:
+ A minimum of six (6) months of direct patient care experience is required.
Additional Preferences
Previous hospital experierence preferred.
