Position: Employee Benefit Account Manager
We are looking for an experienced Employee Benefit Account Manager with strong knowledge of various carriers, quotes, proposals, new business, and renewals. Enjoy a supportive and flexible work environment with competitive compensation and benefits.
Primary Job Purpose:
Manage an assigned block of Employee Benefits business, including fully insured, partially self-funded, or self-insured accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare pre-renewal, renewal, and marketing reports.
- Compare health plan benefits and costs.
- Calculate employee contributions and develop strategies to meet budgetary goals.
- Prepare annual client service plans.
- Conduct open enrollment meetings, health fairs, and webinars.
- Collect client information for HIB technology offerings.
- Author correspondence, communication materials, and compliance notices.
- Negotiate rates and benefits with carriers.
- Audit client information, premiums, and commission splits in the HIB Agency Management System (Zywave).
- Other duties as assigned.
Core Skills & Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills to assist Producers in meeting deadlines.
- Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- In-depth knowledge of employee benefits/health plan implementation and administration.
- Familiarity with ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, and other health insurance regulations.
- Ability to negotiate rates and benefits with carriers.
- High School diploma required; College degree preferred.
- Life and Disability license required.
- 2+ years of experience in group health insurance or benefit brokerage/consulting.
