Overview:
The Human Resources department is seeking an Employee Relations Assistant Manager to handle advanced employee relation situations and to be the liaison between the factory, office, and HR office. This position will be based out of O’Fallon, MO, with occasional travel to all other production facilities required. The ideal candidate would be personable, professional, and have excellent communication skills. Must be flexible with schedule changes; 5x8 schedule required.
Responsibilities:Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Focus on process improvements, documentation, and training the Employee Relations team members.
- Handle advanced policy questions; thoroughly and accurately explain company policies and benefits.
- Work closely with others in HR to handle any benefits, training, recruiting, and payroll issues and/or questions.
- Act as liaison between the factory, office, and HR office; relay employee concerns and suggestions.
- Make employment status decisions; work with leadership to investigate and resolve employee concerns and issues.
- Manage routine employee relations situations.
- Assist in handling advanced employee relations situations.
- Aid in the documentation of processes within the HR Department and areas that impact employee relations.
- Facilitate the analysis of data collected by the Employee Relations team, including onboarding sessions, anniversary updates, and exit interviews.
- Manage unemployment claims and hearings.
- Spend time on the factory floor assisting employees with concerns.
- Assist in maintaining a safe working environment through enforcement of company safety rules.
- Regular and reliable attendance in the office is required.
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
- Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in human resources, psychology, communications or similar field preferred.
- Five or more years of related experience in Human Resources, specifically in Employee Relations in a manufacturing environment required.
- PHR, SPHR, SHRM CP preferred.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance issues and best practices related to employee relations.
- Previous leadership experience strongly preferred.
- Ability to address sensitive subjects, handle situations respectfully and maintain full confidentiality.
- The ideal candidate would be personable, professional, and have excellent communication skills.
- Must be flexible with schedule changes.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, as this position will require driving a company vehicle.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize and work independently.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
