Goldberg Segalla LLP, a dynamic and rapidly growing law firm with a national practice, is seeking an Employee Relations Generalist to join us in one of our California offices. The Employee Relations Generalist (ERG) is responsible for managing a variety of activities related to employee relations and staffing functions. In addition, the ERG provides advice and administers human resources policies and procedures which pertain to employee relations, and researches and analyzes data related to human resources. This role can be based out of Los Angeles or Orange County.
This position is eligible to be on a hybrid work schedule after on-site training is completed. Some travel between offices will be required.

Associates Degree with 5+ years of equivalent work experience or Bachelors Degree with 3+ years of equivalent work experience. Bachelors preferred. HR Certification preferred. Legal field support experience is a plus.
BENEFITS:
The annualized salary range for this position is $72,000 to $85,000. Actual pay may be adjusted based on experience and other job related factors permitted by law. This position also offers bonuses and a full benefits package. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Conducts research and provides assistance with employment-related regulations to ensure the welfare of all employees and compliance with legal/ethical standards within the firm
- Serves as the initial point of contact and resource for employees and managers/practice group leaders for HR related topics. Maintain up-to-date information and knowledgeably answer general employee inquiries regarding LOA policies and procedures, firm benefits, general payroll inquiries, etc.
- Plan and coordinate employee engagement events and communication with office leaders including and not limited to, seasonal outings, luncheons, monthly events, firm-wide engagements, etc.
- Advise employees regarding policies and procedures, recognizing where improvements are required and implementing necessary changes to any policies and procedures
- Perform employee relations functions including support and counseling regarding personnel and job-related conflicts, problem-solving and dispute resolution, managing employee performance issues, review and assessment of termination requests
- Involvement with managing the performance evaluation process, organizing performance reviews, and ensuring timely completion. Guide and coach managers in staff performance and creating positive working relationships
- Research, identify, and analyze specific employee relations concerns and workplace issues, closely following new and existing labor laws at the State and Federal level and making appropriate recommendations to management
- Assist in the development of training on HR processes, policies, and technology; deliver to employees and managers
- Recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the HR department and services performed
- Conduct investigations, closely following compliance procedures and escalating issues as needed
- Manages the internal recruiting process for support staff for respective regional offices
- Coordinates interviews and serves as an internal consultant to department heads for all regional hiring needs
- Oversees legal staff support workflow
- Ensure appropriate staff coverage for time off requests and Leave of Absence’s
- Serve as the point of contact for new hires, coordinating training beyond the initial onboarding process, conduct check-ins. Etc.
- Facilitate off boarding process by conducting exit interviews, internal notification, etc.
- Effectively communicate and execute necessary changes to policies and procedures
- Accurately organize and maintain documentation. This includes but isn’t limited to disciplinary actions, disputes, investigations, performance evaluations, policy violations, etc.
- Interacts with HR colleagues to create training, organize events, and complete ad hoc projects
- Ensure timely and accurate entries to the HRIS programs
- Approve and audit Overtime for legal support staff
- Perform audit of timecard submissions
- Other related HR duties as assigned
