About the Job
The Employment Case Manager (ECM) assists eligible Welfare-To-Work (WTW) program participants in developing vocational goals reflective of their skills, capabilities and interests. Manages the participants progress two achieving their goals by creating and updating plans to help participants overcome barriers or challenges that affect their employment readiness and self-sufficiency. The incumbent will provide quality case management in accordance with the CalWORKs Program Guide (CPG).
Job Description- Meets with participants to identify barriers and challenges to employment and develop strategies to manage these issues.
- Maintains complete, accurate and timely case notes and related records in manual and electronic systems.
- Outreach to referrals who fail to show for appointments
- Create, update and ensure completion of plans according to contract deadlines.
- Refer participants to appropriate agencies for specialized services and/or counseling
- Attends schedules supervision meetings to discuss participants’ progress.
- Utilize county and company computer data processing systems to efficiently track and record participant activity
- Complete all necessary case management documentation and forms; maintain records and files; and schedules appointments
- Other duties as assigned
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field and minimum of two years of work experience in related field or a satisfactory equivalent of education and experience
- Qualifications:
- Strong communication skills
- Knowledge about community resources
- Able to work with and relate to participants and be culturally sensitive
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Must be computer literate and have Microsoft (MS) Word and Excel skills at a minimum and the ability to learn specialized databases and software
- Working knowledge of the CalWORKs program and Welfare-to-Work component is preferred
- Bilingual a plus
License/Certification:
- Valid driver’s license from state of residence with a satisfactory driving record as defined by Company vehicle policy and/or liability insurance carrier (as applicable per program requirements)

Must meet all program requirements for pre- employment as required by Company and/or State regulations.
Physical demands:
- The ability to stand and or walk continuously.
- The ability to bend, stoop, crouch, squat, push, pull and reach above head frequently.
- The ability to use both hands for continuous grasping and for occasional fine manipulation and fingering (for example: use of a computer and or imaging equipment.)
- The physical ability to frequently lift up to 25 pounds.

Payrate:
Hourly range: $23.00 - $25.00
