Scope of Position:
Supervises and supports the overall process of enrollment, outreach, orientation and intake for both basic and individualized career services. Works collaboratively with a team of direct service professionals including Business Services Representatives and Workforce Development Specialists.
Responsibilities:· Supervises and facilitates jobseeker services to include formal assessments, employability skills workshops, training opportunities, community resources and employment needs
· Provides individualized assessment of work, family and personal development needs and opportunities
· Assesses a participant’s barriers, work history, career and education needs; develops an Individual Employment Plan for each client
· Counsels, motivates and encourages jobseekers in advancing employment, training and retention goals, and provides support in resolving issues that may impede successful job placement
· Monitors case management of participant progress in achievement of employment and training goals including tracking of data and file review
· Establishes professional working relationships with community partners
· Coordinates intake, eligibility, assessment and orientation processes for basic and programmatic services
· Coordinates and refers jobseeker to employment and training services available in partnership with Business Services Representatives, training institutions, employers and other community resources
· Consults with Business Services Representatives and Workforce Development Specialists to coordinate and develop job leads that align with the needs of jobseekers
· Maintains detailed documentation of all contacts in the state’s system of record per contact requirements
· Meets with clients individually and in groups to discuss placement planning, options, and process.
· Prepares statistical monitoring and other reports pertaining to center operations as required
· Ensures program operations are compliant with federal, state and local regulations and benchmarks
· Supports daily operations of center and provides coverage as needed
· Facilitates regular communication between center and program staff to ensure timely transfer of information
· Uses language reflective of a commitment to diversity; demonstrate cultural competence
· Models respect and professionalism in all situations
Qualifications:
Required Experience
· Three to four years of professional experience in career counseling, case management or a related customer service management capacity
· Excellent communication, analytical and interpersonal skills
· Experience working in a diverse environment supporting individuals with a variety of needs
· Ability to prioritize tasks and great documentation skills
· Ability to be flexible in a fast-paced environment
· Customer service experience strongly preferred
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office with high proficiency in Microsoft Excel
· Able to work fully onsite, fully remote, or in a hybrid environment
Required Education
· Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree in Social Work Preferred
