Position Overview
Vista Medical Center is seeking a dedicated and experienced EMS Educator to join our team on a PRN (as-needed) basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering high-quality educational content, training, and resources to EMS personnel. This position plays a vital role in ensuring our EMS staff are well-equipped with the latest skills, knowledge, and certifications necessary to provide exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and conduct EMS educational programs, workshops, and training sessions.
- Facilitate hands-on skills labs, simulations, and competency assessments for EMS personnel.
- Evaluate and assess the learning needs of EMS staff to identify gaps and develop targeted educational solutions.
- Collaborate with medical directors, department leaders, and other educators to ensure compliance with state and national EMS standards.
- Maintain accurate records of all training activities, certifications, and attendance.
- Provide feedback and support to EMS personnel to encourage continued professional development.
- Stay current with the latest in EMS education practices, technology, and regulations.
- Assist in the development and revision of EMS policies, procedures, and protocols.
Qualifications
Required:
- Active Paramedic License in the State of [Location].
- Minimum of 3 years of field experience as a paramedic or EMS educator.
- Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
- Strong knowledge of EMS systems and protocols.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Emergency Medical Services, Healthcare, Education, or related field.
- Instructor certifications (e.g., BLS, ACLS, PALS Instructor).
- Previous teaching or educational development experience in a healthcare setting.

- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to engage and motivate learners of varying experience levels.
- Proficiency with educational technology, simulation equipment, and online learning platforms.
- High level of organizational skills and attention to detail.

Employment Type
PRN (as needed). Schedule flexibility required, including availability for occasional evening and weekend classes.
