Energy, Equity, and Environmental Justice Program Analyst - The Building People

The Building People, LLC, has a position open for an Energy, Equity, and Environmental Justice Program Analyst supporting the Department of Energy’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE). The Energy, Equity, and Environmental Justice Analyst will support the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging Team in analyzing current Diversity and Inclusion strategies as well as develop and implement a new EEJ strategic plan to include more inclusive and targeted stakeholder engagement plans; develop and or update existing policies, procedures, strategic implementation plans; as well as develop and deliver tailored training related to the mission.

Positions Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Develop and implement a strategy to coordinate Energy, Equity, and Environmental Justice (EEEJ) objectives and programs for IEDO that leverages and complements previous and existing work to maximize the impact of IEDO’s programs and activities.
• Integrate with IEDO Technical Programs to understand technical goals/priorities of the Program and identify and propose how EEEJ can be integrated into IEDO’s program activities
• Collaborate with other DOE offices, programs, and working groups focused on EEEJ objectives
• Lead IEDO’s engagement with key EEEJ stakeholders
• Analyze and interpret DOE, EERE, and Administration EEEJ guidance and propose how and what to implement within IEDO
• Stay current with EEEJ news and trainings; summarize and disseminate information to IEDO staff
• Participate in meetings with IEDO – to include leaders at all levels of the agency and others, as needed – related to EEEJ.
• Assist IEDO staff in developing EEEJ metrics for funding opportunity announcements, project milestones, and final deliverables.
• Clearly communicate data analysis, findings, conclusions, and recommendations through oral (e.g. powerpoint presentations) and written reports (e.g., white papers, memoranda, information papers, emails, reports) to a variety of audiences, including senior leaders.
• Write and maintain supporting documentation, Stakeholder Engagement Plans, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and guidelines for data cleaning and process documentation.
• Support annual, quarterly, and ad hoc internal and external reporting requirements for the agency by preparing and delivering briefings and reports as needed for both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Four (4) years’ experience. Master’s Degree may be substituted for two (2) years of experience.
• Experience developing diversity and inclusion plans
• Experience in development communications strategy around diversity and inclusion goals
• Strong writing and editing skills
• Microsoft Office Suite

• Energy industry knowledge a plus
• Strong critical thinking skills
• Highly skilled in analysis and data interpretation
• Excellent report writing and communication skills

• Experience communicating with a wide variety of technical and non-technical audiences

• B.S. or B.A. in a related discipline that provides the functional skills to perform the functions and responsibilities described. Four (4) years of experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s Degree
