Job Purpose
We are seeking an independent engineer to play a crucial role in ensuring the durability of engine and exhaust hardware. This position is vital for maintaining the stringent reliability standards that Honda engines are renowned for. Responsibilities include planning and managing testing schedules, hands on involvement with dyno operations and testing of engine components/systems. Additionally, the role involves deep analysis of part and test data to feed and create new design countermeasures. The engineer will collaborate closely with design and other test groups to achieve these goals.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead Testing from planning, execution and analysis to guarantee that all engine components uphold high standards of performance and durability requirements through unit testing .
- Lead regular test data analysis review meetings and reporting events to validate the hardware being applied to a development.
- Lead investigation of hardware and calibration issues that arise during development, and create corrective hardware plans as needed.
- Clearly and concisely report the status of hardware and test data analysis to function management.
- Work directly with powertrain related function groups to guarantee hardware maturation schedule. Lead and support cross functional teams when developing solutions for development and testing issues.
- Determine and clearly communicate project status, concerns, and solutions to division management and team management on a regular basis.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
- Bachelor’s of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering
- 3+ years related experience or equivalent level of education and experience
- Proficient PC skills, including but not limited to excel, PowerPoint, and Matlab
Workstyle
- Associate will work on the actual engine / vehicle with hand and power tools. Candidate can expect to spend a portion of their time working in the lab – confirming their systems on bench, on the car, or in thermal chambers. (50%)
- Associate will perform analysis and documentation, then communicate findings to varying levels of management. (50%)
