Who we’re looking for
Toyota’s Production Engineering Battery department is looking for a passionate and highly motivated Production Engineer to work in the Battery group.
The primary responsibility of this position is to prepare, coordinate battery manufacturing equipment to support new model launches.
This position will be located at TBMNC in Liberty, NC and report to the Engineering Manager for Battery.
The person in this role will support the Battery department's objective to execute Capital Projects from planning thru Start of Production (SOP).
What you’ll be doing
+ Construction / Equipment installations to include planning and management of general contractors
+ Leading the cost planning, budget creation, machine specification, procurement, validation, utility planning/verification, installation, pre-productions trials and launch of battery production lines
+ Developing process plans for battery production lines within the battery department with direct support from Manager
+ Directly supporting other engineers or technicians through a mentorship
+ Creating and maintaining detail schedule and budget for assigned area
+ Participate in cross functional working groups across the local facility and corporate departments to achieve project goals
+ Participate in a mentor program to grow as an engineer and learn from others within the department
What you bring
+ Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering or similar technical field or 5+ years of equivalent manufacturing experience
+ Experience in production preparation of manufacturing and experience in execution of capital projects, preferably from initial planning to start of production
+ AutoCad experience, including the ability to read, interpret and modify 2D drawings
+ Experience in production preparation of manufacturing for capital projects, including schedule creation and KPI tracking from initial planning to start of production
+ Experience creating and implementing processes in a manufacturing environment, such as standardized work, job safety analysis or similar
+ Budget management experience for capital projects greater than $250K
+ Ability to work weekend, holiday and shutdown work, including business travel, both domestic and international, up to 25%
Added bonus if you have
+ Advanced Degree, above a bachelor’s
+ Experience with laser welding
+ Experience and/or exposure to battery manufacturing process
+ Equipment installation and validation experience
+ Experience with chemical processes and procedures in a manufacturing environment
