About the Job
Performs a variety of routine and preventative maintenance duties for the Engineering Department such as electrical, plumbing, HVAC, refrigeration and/or carpentry work. Troubleshoot problems as they are identified.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities:- Checks buildings for proper operation of all equipment in all departments.
- Makes necessary structural repairs to inside and outside of buildings.
- Repairs HVAC equipment, pumps, valves, lighting, etc
- Repairs and maintains support systems, carpentry to maintain buildings, welding to produce and repair railings, as well as priming and painting of building interiors, exteriors, signs, etc.
- Installs and finishes sheet rock and other wall coverings, performance basic electrical repairs, installs plumbing fixtures, performs basic plumbing repairs, and installs water and sewer lines as needed.
- Replace or repair faucets, flush valves, and shut off valves.
- Replace defective pipes, fittings, drains, and toilet bowls.
- Installs and repairs such equipment such as water heaters, refrigerators, air conditioning units, etc.
- Maintains and repairs electrical systems in buildings, assists with installing new circuits and electrical systems.
- Performs other job related duties as assigned.
Knowledge of methods, practices, equipment and supplies used in the maintenance and repair of structures and grounds keeping. Knowledge of practice and procedures related to the maintenance and operation of vehicles. Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, drywall, air conditioning and heating. Ability to interpret blue prints. Knowledge of materials (parts and supplies).
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum of one to two years’ experience in an engineering/maintenance position.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATES & REGISTRATIONS:
Must undergo and successfully pass a background investigation to obtain and maintain a gaming license issued by the Morongo Gaming Agency. Must have a valid driver’s license.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents in English such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively communicate to a wide variety of audiences, such as guests, coworkers, and members of leadership.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define and solve problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Ability to apply regulatory and procedural doctrine, concepts and policy to practical situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The team member is required to stand, walk and climb ladders. The team member is occasionally required to sit or kneel/crouch and reach with hands and arms. Position involves functioning both in an office environment and in the field. Field work involves manual labor, and occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment for the duties performed in this position will vary and may take place in the front of house (customer facing) or in the back of house (non-customer facing) areas of the property, as well as outside. The casino and parts of the hotel are a smoking environment. The front of house areas have moderate to loud noise and varying levels of lighting. The back of house areas have adequate lighting and varying levels of sound. The outside environment will be exposed to weather conditions.
WORKING HOURS:
Because we are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, most positions require flexibility in scheduling and may require Team Members be available for evenings, weekends, holidays and special events. A typical workweek is 40 hours and normal work schedules may vary based on business needs and may include scheduled shifts Monday through Sunday. Position may require overtime.
