About the Job
- The Engineer I is a skilled trade position. Skilled trades include but not limited to HVAC and Paint. The Engineer I will work closely with the Chief Engineer and Engineer II to schedule and complete various preventative maintenance projects in the specific discipline as defined by the Annual Task Calendar and/or the RFR Plan. This position requires expert experience and skill in specific discipline but it is also required to have basic skills in other areas. Skills include but not limited to basic repair, basic electrical and basic plumbing. This role may also require to complete "shop projects" as assigned by the Chief Engineer.

Responsibilities of Gold Key|PHR hourly Associates:

Associate Responsibilities specific for this role and Department:
- Perform duties of Engineer I, II as needed
- May be asked to answer prompt response guest calls and make necessary repairs
- Provide General "handyman" skills
- Electrical repairs and maintenance to mechanical equipment
- Order and receive materials related to assigned equipment and maintain orderly inventory
- Coordinate with Chief Engineer and Engineer II to plan and complete all scheduled equipment maintenance and projects as defined by the Annual Task Calendar and/or RFR Plan
- Performs scheduled preventive maintenance on all major equipment to include but not limited to:
- Laundry equipment
- Kitchen equipment
- Air handlers
- Pumps
- Motors
- Skilled Trade: HVAC:
- Has HVAC EPA Certificate
- Has PM Certificate R410A
- Repair and maintain all existing refrigeration and air conditioning equipment including troubleshoot and diagnostic skills
- Install newly acquired equipment (AC & Refrigeration).
- Relocate equipment as needed
- Coordinate outside assistance with AC/Refrigeration as needed
- Skilled Trade: Paint:
- Professional tradesman experience and/or certification as a Painter
- Maintain sufficient supply of Property approved paints, tools and supplies in paint closets
- Sets up work area for the day and posts signage for guest awareness prior to the start of work, if assignment is in a public area
- When painting interior surfaces, responsible for prepping the drywall and sanding wood finishes
- Exterior prep work will also fall under the painter's realm in terms of sanding metal surfaces, etc.
- All painting to be accomplished in a first-class workmanlike manner and in accordance with documented standard and specification.
- Responsible for maintaining all brushes, pans, rollers, tools and supplies in premium condition to maximize their useful life.
- At the end of each shift, responsible for a complete cleanup of the work site and to ensure that professional looking and proper signage is posted to prevent fresh paint from getting on guests and Associates
- Any paint, supplies or other materials that fall below the operating par level in any and all painting closets are to be noted and forwarded to the Chief Engineer who will enter same into the purchasing process
Experience | Minimum four years experience in mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry or building maintence. Two years or its equivalent in trade school or training in building maintenance/construction. Must have basic knowledge of building mechanical systems and controls, energy management and building maintenance skills may require ability to drive pick-up truck and snow removal equipment. |
