Summary
The Engineer will work closely with Sales Director and external suppliers to design, produce and deliver mixing solutions. Engineer is responsible for mixing solution design activities, production support and project management. Activities include mixing application review and design, engineering drawing creation, component selection and manufacturing support.
Responsibilities
- Review customer applications for design and quoting of custom mixing solutions
- Capable of understanding technical applications and specifications as it relates to customer processes
- Follows Engineering department guidelines and procedures
- Select system componentry that meets application process conditions such as: tanks, mixers, mechanical seals, pumps, valves, level/flow instrumentation, load cells
- Generate submittals, technically communicating features and benefits of Engineered Products
- Generate general arrangement CAD layouts, User Requirement Specifications, P&ID layouts and other supporting drawings or documentation
- Generate customer turnover packages
- Create and maintain assembly drawings, specifications and bill of materials
- Partner with internal and external Production, Quality and Supply chain in the design and production of mixing solutions
- Strong project management experience with the ability to prioritize, multi-task and handle several projects concurrently with minimal direction
- Project tracking and order tracking
- Communication with Inside Sales and Procurement teams for ERP related activities
- Support and troubleshoot issues with customers and vendors
- Continually improve product and application knowledge
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical) or other similar Engineering degree
- Minimum of 5-7 years relevant experience in process system engineering or related field of work, preferably within the Life Science market
- Fluent in CAD systems: AutoCAD Inventor or similar
- Proficient with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Powerpoint
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Excellent communication and team interaction skills, routinely interacting with customers, manufacturers, production, marketing and sales teams
- Ability to work independently and successfully manage time
- Excellent analytical skills and strong attention to detail
- Willingness to travel to customer or supplier location as necessary
