Engineer in Training, Water Resources - Woolpert, Inc.

The Engineer-in-Training will support water resource projects focused on hydrology and hydraulic (H&H) modeling, including tasks related to rainfall, storm surges, and floods for infrastructure and land development. Under the guidance of a Professional Engineer, the EIT will perform standard design engineering tasks, contribute to technical reports, and assist with project documentation.

• Under the advisement of a Professional Engineer, the EIT will work on water resource initiatives for H&H modeling for rainfall, storm surges, and floods,for roads, bridges and land development projects.
• Performs a variety of clearly defined assignments that require the application of standard design engineering techniques, procedures and criteria.
• Reads/interprets surveys and researches design options
• Excellent verbal/written communication. Responsible for writing and creating technical project reports
• Working knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS
• Work on projects that include hydrology and hydraulic modeling
• Supports senior engineers and project managers to complete planning, research preliminary design, and may be required to perform detailed design modeling tasks.
• Assists with the preparation of documentation including plans, maps, reports, data spreadsheets, specifications, supporting documents.

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with 0-2 years of relevant experience
• Knowledge of standard software for hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, including USACE HEC Software (HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS), SWMM (XP or EPA), and ESRI ArcGIS.
• Performs a variety of clearly defined assignments that require the application of standard design engineering techniques, procedures and criteria.
• Using prescribed methods, applies techniques to specific civil engineering projects
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and governmental regulations.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
