This position will be responsible for helping move our Material Selection program. They will work with Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering and Operations to determine viable resin blend recipes and test the results to verify that the products meet our quality standards and meet all code body requirements.
- Work with local Plant Manager and Regional Director of Operations on crafting capital projects for building improvements or new equipment, submitting proposals and managing these projects to completion.
- Work with local Automation Engineer on automation/process improvement projects focused on reducing direct labor and improving efficiency. Some of these projects include automated auxiliary equipment for post processing of finished goods, use of robots for material handling smart conveyor setup, vision systems, glue/labeling systems, etc.
- This role will provide valuable experience to an individual interested in pursuing a role in Manufacturing Engineering, Project Management, Plastics/Automation, or Injection Molding.
Basic Qualifications:
EDUCATION: Junior or Senior in pursuit of a bachelor's degree, preferably in a Manufacturing, Industrial, Plastics, or Automation Engineering discipline.
Additional Qualifications:
Strong capabilities with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Word)
Desired Skills:
Familiar with related Engineering skills
Exposure or experience in a manufacturing environment
Physical Demands are typical of an office environment; however, extended periods will be spent sitting at a computer workstation. Significant time will also be spent working on the factory floor requiring extended periods of standing, crouching, and light lifting. The employee is expected to spend time also working on the floor in order to gain a better understanding of our processes and to help document procedures.
The Work Environment is characteristics found in a typical office with moderate noise; however, extended periods will be spent on the factory floor exposed to very loud noise, sharp manufacturing components, heavy objects, automated robotics, moving machinery, forklift traffic, and electrical systems. Personal protective equipment will be provided and must be worn in the factory.
