Job Title: Engineer
Location: St. Louis, Missouri
Duration: 12+ Months (W2 Contract)
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Engineer to join our team in St. Louis, Missouri, for a 12+ month contract. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering principles, with specific experience in packaging line design and project management within the FMCG, CPG, or pharmaceutical industries. The role will require close collaboration with offshore design teams, vendors, clients, and contractors to ensure the successful execution and delivery of projects, meeting customer expectations and maintaining quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review of Design Deliverables: Evaluate and approve design documents including packing line layouts, technical specifications, fabrication drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOM).
- Coordination & Collaboration: Serve as the liaison between the offshore design team, clients, vendors, and contractors to ensure design deliverables align with customer expectations.
- Technical Guidance: Provide technical support and guidance to the construction team during the execution of field activities.
- Project Planning & Management: Oversee project planning, resource management, and utilization to ensure efficient execution and on-time delivery.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Understand project scope and engage with stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution and resolve any issues that arise.
- Engineering Activities: Lead engineering activities related to new product development, maintenance, and enhancements of existing machinery.
- Mechanical Construction Support: Offer end-to-end technical support for mechanical construction activities and ensure the project is delivered with zero defects.
- Issue Documentation & Resolution: Document construction-related issues, prepare action plans, and coordinate vendor tasks to achieve defect-free machine installation.
- Engineering Leadership: Apply broad engineering knowledge to project tasks and represent the discipline with clients, resolving technical questions and ensuring project milestones are met.
- Work Plan Oversight: Develop and manage work plans that align with project scope, budget, and schedule. Review and approve key engineering drawings, bid summaries, and technical documents.
- Client & Vendor Communication: Facilitate technical discussions with clients, suppliers, and regulators, and coordinate approvals for engineering drawings/documents.
- Qualification Testing: Conduct Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ), and Validation Acceptance Testing (VAT).
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong design and project management experience with packing lines, including front-of-line and end-of-line systems.
- Experience working in FMCG, CPG, or pharmaceutical industries.
- Proficient in 2D AutoCAD and 3D design tools.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
