Primary Responsibilities:The Process Engineer is responsible for overseeing the implementation of new processes and conducting regular audits to evaluate adherence to established procedures. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, project management skills, and a keen eye for detail to drive continuous improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with KeHE and industry standards. Essential Functions:DUTIES, TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborates with cross functional teams to understand new process requirements and objectives and implement changes that enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Develops detailed process implementation plans including timelines, resource allocation, and key milestones.
- Conducts regular audits of operational processes to ensure compliance with established standards and procedures.
- Identifies deviations from established processes and works with teams to implement corrective actions.
- Maintains comprehensive audit trail and documentation of changes and improvements.
- Analyzes audit findings to identify opportunities for process optimization and improvement.
- Maintains accurate and up-to-date documentation of implemented processes, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and audit reports.
- Generates comprehensive reports detailing audit results, recommendations, and improvement actions for management review.
- Trains and supports teams involved in the implementation of new processes.
- Acts as the point of contact for answering questions and provides guidance on process related matters.
- Stays up to date with industry trends and best practices in distribution and process engineering to proactively identify innovative solutions.
- Other duties and projects as assigned.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written.
- Ability to manage and lead projects across multiple locations ensuring consistent implementation and successful outcomes.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, Access).
- Ability to travel 50%-60% required with periodic, multi-state travel which may include transport by airplane, rail, rental, or personal motor vehicle.
- Ability to manage multiple projects or tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and in a team environment.
- Knowledge of Lean principles and experience implementing Lean projects.
- Knowledge of Six Sigma.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field is required.
- Minimum of 4+ years of experience in distribution process engineering with a focus on process implementation and compliance.
- Lean training and/or certification preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Work performed is typically performed in a temperature-controlled environment.
- Must sit, stand, or walk for extended periods.
- May spend long periods at a desk or computer terminal.
- May use calculators, keyboards, telephones, and other office equipment during workday.
- Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in the completion of job duties.
- Work is fast paced; occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
