Job Description
- Identify applications and different user-cases for utilization of infrastructure
- Perform initial capacity planning with respect to network services, VM and database sizing
- Identify requirements for network services including VLANs, DNS, NTP and other similar services
- Divide Engineered Systems across different environments – Dev, Test, Stage and Prod
- Define layout of VMs and databases to ensure availability and optimal utilization of resources
- Work with Oracle during the initial installation of Engineered Systems and validate installation
- Implement security hardening of Engineered Systems including STIG-enablement for Exalogic VMs
- Install and implement OVM on stand-alone x86 servers
- Support migration of select VMs from existing Exalogic systems to new
- Support migration of select databases from existing Exadata systems to new
- Document complete solution including architecture diagrams and network, VM and database layout
- Build and implement scripts for automated provisioning of VMs on Exalogic Systems
Preferred Skills
- Oracle Engineered Systems implementation expert having implementation experience for both Exadata & Exalogic
- Thorough understanding of networking and other concepts as related to Engineered Systems
- Experience in implementing security hardening of Engineered Systems
- Oracle Database and RAC experience with specific focus on Oracle Exadata
- Experience with one or more Oracle Fusion Middleware products a plus
