POSITION DEFINITION: Engineering Assistant INTERN
* Must currently be enrolled for classes at an accredited College or University. *
Job Functions:
• Under direction from the Engineering Design Center Senior Civil Engineer, the Engineering Assistant performs the following tasks:
o Update system maps based on construction as-builts
o Upkeep of engineering records (as-builts, plant site drawings, easement documents, etc.)
o Increase CAD production on capital improvement projects, as needed.
o Miscellaneous Engineering Support: Utility research, CAD library expansion, scanning plans, and other engineering assistance, as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Works under immediate supervision.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college.
• Proficient in MS Word/Excel and have completed one (1) course in AutoCAD.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to analyze and solve complex problems.
• Organized, detail-oriented and able to prioritize tasks.
May include but not limited to standing, walking, bending, pulling and/or pushing, grasping, lifting, reaching, stooping and crouching, color determination, typing, sitting, reading, speaking and listening.
COMPENSATION INFORMATION
The compensation range provided is in compliance with state specific laws. Multiple factors are used to determine the actual starting rate of pay for all of our positions, including specific skills, years of experience, education, certification(s), and other job related factors.
