This is for a Engineering Cost Modeler – Advanced Programs position.
Are you an experienced cost modeler, capable of working with Engineering & Technology, Finance & Business Operations, Strategy & Business Development, Program/Proposal Management, and external customers?
Do you enjoy bringing together data from different sources to be used in a standard work breakdown structure?
Are you comfortable evolving models as new data becomes available?
Are you ready to leverage your financial, technical, & people knowledge to develop models to inform engineering design decisions?

This position requires experience developing complex cost models using advanced cost estimating techniques as well as excellent interpersonal skills required to solicit input, synthesize data, and communicate results to various levels of technical and programmatic leadership.
The role may include working on affordability analyses, life cycle cost developments, cost data analytics, forecasting cost and schedule, data collection and normalization, and design-to-cost.
The candidate selected will be asked to analyze multiple data sets to build engineering models, synthesize results, perform decision analysis, and communicate findings with engineering colleagues and internal decision makers.
Required Skills/Experience
• Bachelor's in Data Science, Math, Operations Research, Engineering, or related field.
• 5 Years of Experience with one or more of the following: cost model development, data analytics, engineering related to the Defense industry, and/or finance.
• 5 Years of Experience with Microsoft Excel & data analytics
• 5 Years of Experience navigating technical and cost data.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate with an executive audience experienced in Data Visualization.
Desired Skills
• Engineering with MBA or related advanced degree.
• Experience with Python, Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), MS SQL, and/or Tableau.
• Experience working with cost models, predictive analytics, or decision analysis.
• Knowledge of financial systems, analysis, statistics, etc.
• Knowledge of data management systems and/or data science.
• Familiarity with proposal development and/or the government acquisition process.
• Strong team collaboration and leadership skills.
• Experience with Capture, Position To Win, or Cost Engineering.
• Capable of performing O&S Cost, Similar-to, Pre-Design Performance, Sensitivity, Cost Capability, Producibility, Pareto and / or Learning Curve Analyses.
• Manufacturing materials & processes familiarity.
• Parametric Estimating / TruePlanning experience.
