Cherne Manufacturing is currently seeking a college engineering student for our 2025 Summer Internship Program. The program was created to support our growing organization by infusing it with bright talented students. Cherne offers learning and development, peer mentoring, and meaningful team projects. In this position, you will work closely with seasoned professionals to develop your skills and gain valuable insight in your chosen career field.
What we’re looking for...
Our Engineering department is a critical part of our organization. In this role you would be supporting the Research and New Development Engineering department with documentation including CAD & drafting using SolidWorks.
Create CAD models of parts and assemblies using SolidWorks and industry standard practices.
Create production drawings using SolidWorks and geometrical dimensioning industry standards such as ISO and ASME.
Modify and/or convert AutoCad drawings into SolidWorks files.
Create CAD models and sketches for conceptual designs.
Distribute and communicate drawing update information to required departments.
What you’ll need to be successful…
Experience in SolidWorks software in creating parts, assemblies and drawing.
Working knowledge of office tools such as Word & Excel.
In-depth emotional intelligence: behavioral maturity, demonstrated trust and integrity, high ethical standards, interpersonal competence.
Good oral and written communication skills.
Demonstrate ability to work on multiple tasks while generating results.
Exercise discretion and good judgment.
Experience that will set you apart….
Proficient in Solidworks
R&D exposure
Working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
Two plus (2+) years of work manufacturing experience.
