We are seeking an Engineering Intern - Water/Wastewater to join our team. This position is full-time, summer 2025 in our Tempe office. (This job is not remote.)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintains and documents communication with clients through letters and telephone throughout the development and completion of a project.
- Monitors team members progress and advises team members of schedules and deadlines.
- Reviews schedules and budgets relative to project progress and completion.
- Conducts project status review checking accuracy of work completed and monitors timeliness of project completion.
- Attends meetings on project management.
- Assists Project Managers with any administrative duties concerning completion of assigned project.
- Maintains project file.
- Assists Project Manager in preparation of engineering studies and reports.
- Provide technical guidance and training to members of the project team.
- Provide project design using sound engineering principles, engineering software, and AutoCAD.
- Assists in preparation of contract documents and technical specifications.
- Assists Project Manager in assuring quality control procedures are performed.
- Assist in preparation of project drawings.
- Performs necessary code research.
- Responsible for the accuracy of each segment of the work and the final check of the work.
- Responsible for adherence to all applicable codes.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Science degree program in Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Environmental Engineering at an ABET-accredited university
- Must be interested in pursuing a career in Water/Wastewater
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
- Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
- Detail-oriented team player with the ability to contribute to a positive work environment
- Valid driver’s license with approved/acceptable driving history
- Familiarity with MicroStation and/or AutoCAD platformsÂ
