POSITION OVERVIEW:This role is responsible for conducting testing and providing data to the engineering team, which is used to evaluate the performance of our products.
PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Executes and monitors lab tests to study a specific trait of interest. Tests may include:
- Hydraulic shaker testing
- Thermal testing
- Mechanical shaker testing
- Force-Displacement testing
- Electrodynamic shaker testing
- Corrosion testing
- Other types of tests as required
- Summarizes and reports lab test findings to engineers
- Performs preventive maintenance and basic repairs on test equipment
- Provides prototype/specialty part manufacturing and quality support
- Utilizes CMM machines and software to precisely measure components and fixtures
- Inspects and prepares sample products for shipment to customers
- Responsible for general housekeeping of the test lab
- Administer, utilize the Vault PDM software as well as support others on its use as needed
- Oversight of or directly performing design of parts and creation of drawings as needed using Autodesk Inventor.
- Interpret customers supplied drawings and internal marked up drawings as needed.
- Other responsibilities as assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required, a technical degree preferred
- Prior technical/testing experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, CAD Software, and FEA Software
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of standard mechanical design and manufacturing practices
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills, and excellent active listening skills
- Strong problem solving and decision-making skills
Physical Summary
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, talk, hear, grasp, reach with hand/arms, use hands including repetitive wrist, hand and/or finger movement and operate mechanical equipment; occasionally required to push/pull, and walk; and rarely required to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb stairs or balance.
